Battery Recycling in Darwin

Recycled In Australia

Unlike other companies that ship old batteries to be recycled overseas, Darwin Recycling ensures all materials we receive are repurposed within Australia. Based in Woolner, the batteries we can recycle include:

  • Used
  • Lead acid
  • Solar
  • Gel-coated

We do not accept:

  • Household batteries
  • Alkaline
  • Nicad
  • Lithium

Old batteries should not be tossed in the general or recycling bins as they could potentially start a fire in trucks or at the waste facilities. What’s more, by bringing your old batteries to us, you can exchange them for cash! If you’ve got any questions on battery recycling, give us a call on 0447 733 779. We welcome customers throughout Darwin, Berrimah, Palmerston and Winnellie

How It Works

To put it simply, you can exchange various used materials for cash. With battery recycling, the price of the battery can fluctuate week by week, therefore the price we offer is not fixed and is dependent on the current market price. We only offer half price for gel batteries as the gel must be extracted before they can be recycled. The total cash amount you receive will also vary depending on the quantity you bring in.

Here at Darwin Recycling, we recycle up to 20 tonnes of batteries a week, repurposing them into new, usable batteries! You can also bring us any scrap copper, brass or aluminium as well.
